Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has claimed that if he was the prime minister of Pakistan, the issue of terrorism would have been resolved within 90 days.
Talking to media during his visit to Data Darbar Lahore, Imran khan said Pakistan is paying the price for the American war. He said the real terrorists should be eliminated but if we treat the enemies of America as our enemies the war will continue.
Khan noted that the war on terror has taken a heavy toll on Pakistan’s economy and only a small group of ruling elite are profiting from the aid and loans.
He claimed that if he was the prime minister of Pakistan, the problems of terrorism could have been resolved within 90 days. He said that the security should be provided to Pakistani people and not the political families.

Actually I don’t like style of Politics which he is doing since his first day, he first married to a jewish lady who was residing in neighbor of former American Presidential Candidate, unfortunately that candidate lost in elections, then he separated from that marriage arrangement. He then joined Pervez Musharraf cabinet with the hope he would be given candidature of Prime Minister but when it was given to Shaukat Aziz then he left Pervez Musharraf. Now trying both the two options he contrary to his former engagements is supporting Talibans and condemning Americans and Musharraf….So I saw his many U Turns in his few years of politics now by saying it he actually disclosed his old wish to give me government for 90 days. I don’t think so he is even capable to run his own political party, so running country is a different ball game. Contrary to the policy and manifesto of his own party he is giving tickets to old horses of both the big political parties instead of giving chance to his own workers.
So what he is saying is totally opposite to what he is doing.

Pakistani: I respect your opinion when you refuted my claim that liberal attitudes are better than middle aged life style. Let me explain the difference. In Iran, Sudan, Burma and Saudi Arabia, they are pursuing the yesteryears styles. In pakistan you can stand up and criticize the politicians. You might face problems if you did that in such countries. In Pakistan, you can vote a politician out of power. Try that in many conservative societies. It is so easy to stand up in the open societies to say that you will curb many problems in 90 days and afterwards you are lumbered with the man for decades. Zia also wanted to give us the chance to vote within 90 days. He stayed for 10 years until a far superior power interfered. A secular society is the order of the day. the reason why governments are dismissed in Pakistan is we are fooled by those who say they will eradicate evil. In fact they destroy the societies. You can see how India has improved with democracy and their leadership has not always been good, but it is consistency that counts.
The people have rejected Imran Khan’s party in every single election. He will have no credibility until and unless he can gain a presence in parliament. Similarly, another extremely vocal politician, Salman Taseer, has also been rejected by the masses everytime he has participated in an election.
I don’t believe that we can curb terrorism in 90 days. Eliminating terrorism from Pakistan requires that we educate our population about the true Islam and not what the madrassahs and mullahs radicalize. This will take more strength and effort from every Pakistan that fighting a ground war against the extremists because it touches all of our lives from schools to workplace to media.
For Pakistan to move forward, first we need to shut down all the madrassahs that are imparting radical Islamic teaching. That means we need a federal and provincial governments that are not subservient to hidden hands in order to keep their vote bank in place. Second, we need to start a huge push on our television channels that teach what Islam says about terrorism, war and jihad – more importantly we need to educate people about the history and reasons of why the Prophet (PBUH) held the standards that he did.
The reason for extremism and militancy expanding in Pakistan is not American drone attacks, but lack of education and ignorance in the people of Pakistan. The fear to question what a mullah says about Islam is because we are not sure ourselves of what Islam teaches giving them all the power to keep the educated class out of the discussion.
We also need to eliminate the concept of religious democratic parties. Jamaat Islami in all its forms must be eliminated from the political discussion as they are not interested in true democracy, only the democracy that will allow them to do what Zia did. Islam is a way of life, not a democratic or religious party.
Imran Khan is unable to do any of these things, as he is not able to step away from the hidden hands that guide him and his politics.

Some of the great leaders of the free world and revolutions were not born into a political family. Just the fact that politics has become a ‘family affair’ is disgusting in itself. Really? First, how is he going to win enough seats to gain a majority and form a government? What credibility to individuals apart from him have? Is he naive enough to believe that if Pakistan changes her foreign policy, that the Taliban will pack and go home? They have developed a complex network of fund-raising, control and logistics. Why would they give it up now?
How is he going to get the Army’s support? How is he going to get the ISI to break its links with the same organizations that are killing Pakistani citizens? At a time when the Army is pushing Karzai and the Haqqani’s to negotiate and maintain “strategic depth”, does he think that he is relevant enough to change and shape policy? This seems like nothing more than a talking point, from a man who has the luxury of knowing that he will never be held accountable to fulfil his claims.

Last month June was the deadliest month for the NATO forces (104 killed) since the war started in 2001. Next year in July USA is planning exit from Afghanistan they are thousands of miles away but we are neighbors.

Somone here wrote about how Imran Khan not being from a ‘political family’ should be a benchmark for his leadership, I couldn’t help but agree to it. His party and Pakistan for that matter clearly needs more educated people. People with Heart! The country have choosen several leaders more then once, been betrayed on some occasions, left hopeless on other. It makes one wonder though, who are they planning to choose next. I could only hope its someone who has education (aleast some) , feels and speaks for the people he is running for. Doesn’t necessarily have to be this Imran Khan either.

As if leaders in the past with Muslim partners never lied, cheated or ravaged the trust of the nation. This is almost laughable and yet depressing at the same time. If the plan is viable and if the Govt does not follow it, the people will reject the govt and embrace Imran Khan. Just giving hypothetical statements won’t do. We have had enough of them.

Imran Khan’s PTI doesn’t have a single seat, let alone the majority required to become a premier. Practically, as things go, he can’t have any chance to become a premier anytime soon.

We are an unfortunate and illiterate nation which has no ability to recognize their leaders and the only thing we know is criticism. We talk about greatness of people after their death, which is just meaningless. Please think with an open mind and literate approach. At least if you compare Imran with others, you will know how great person he is. He is only leader who has all his assets declared correctly and all his money in Pakistan and pays all the tax. Thats why he always talks about tax defaulters. And if you say that he gave ticket to some former member of other political party, then know one thing that the leadership is important. If he has vision, he can bring best out of his people. If leader himself is corrupt and 10% like, then what to talk of others in his party.
Thats all from my side. Rest is on you people to decide; a change or corrupt politicians !
I don’t think it is that much easy as Imran is thinking, it is a very complicated game, if imran khan can explain who is behinde all this and what is thierpurpose that will be blessing for common Pakistani.

When a handful of people can enjoy enormous rewards for no effort, and effort does not necessarily produce reward, it must be concluded that the relation between reward and effort can be tenuous.
It should not be suprising that many people, with this model in front of them, are lacking in motivation.
Perhaps we should regain the respect once associated with the people who make things and have the knowledge to keep this country going and start to criticise the parasites in suits.

Mr. Syed A. Mateen sorry to be the one to correct you but Imran Khan boycotted the last election. And then stated, he didn’t think they would be fair. So, he cried like a baby and continues to do so.
If he was so great why would the average Pakistani not vote for him. Secondly, when he did run for parliament, he did not even vote by his own admission. And people who don’t vote have no right to criticize and complain. They should just sit down and shut-up.
Imran Khan’s biggest problem is his ego. He’s so self absorbed he can’t bare to live outside the spot light. And his favourite mantra is blame America, blame Israel, Jews and everyone else he can think off but always seems to find excuses to defend the real culprits like the Taliban who are terrorizing the People of Pakistan. I really wonder who’s side he’s really on.
Before dieing, i would like to see Imran Khan to become the PM of Pakistan. I think if there is someone who can change the canvas and pull out Pakistan from domestic & international conspiracies, then its Imran Khan.

Imran wants to be premier to sort out the terrorism problem. The MMA in the 2002 elections said if they are brought to power they would introduce Shariat. On this promise they were overwhelmingly voted into power in the nwfp, but no Shariat was introduced. When asked as to why they failed, they said because Musharraf was sitting in the center and didn’t aloow it. They said they should be brought to power in the center too, for implementing Shariat. I’m sure if they were brought to power in the center too, they would have made the excuse that because George Bush is president USA and is not allowing us, so they should be brought to power in USA too to implement shariat. What I mean to say that if the MMA wanted it could have brought Shariat in the nwfp or at least upon themselves. They didn’t do any thing. Only enjoyed power like their predecessors and went away disgraced. If Imran Khan wants to end Terrorism he should take practical steps at his level at least and let the people know. Just cursing the government and doing nothing practical is not on.
I agree with Imran Khan as he was only person in Pakistan who called for initiating dialogues with various factions of Taliban in order to isolate them. Now, PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif hinted the same to start dialogue with them to separate pro Pakistani Taliban and anti Pakistanis.

The problem with Imran Khan is that his political party is one man show.
Same is the case with Sheikh Rasheed’s AML.
These two politicians though may be having some hierarchy in their respective political parties but whenever there is a chance for them to appear on the TV screen they are there.
No body knows who is the Secretary General of Mr. Imran Khan’s Tahreen-e-Insaf?
Similarly, no one knows who is the Secretary General of Sheikh Rasheed’s AML?
Unless both of the politicians will not bring their respective leaders of on the TV screens, their political parties will remain “one man show”.
There are number of admirers of Mr. Imran Khan and Sheikh Rasheed but due to this very bottleneck their political parties will remain behind the scene.
It is my privilege that I have met with both the political leaders on one to one basis on certain occasions (not in the political rallies, as I am a non-political person and only work to keep Pakistan’s Flag sky high), but this is my candid opinion.
Many elections came and went but now these two politicians should change their strategies and bring forward the other office bearers, so that their political parties should gain more popularity in the country.
Look at the PPP, PML(N), MQM and other political parties. Their leaders remain behind the scene comparing to the office bearers.
Now General (R) Pervez Musharraf has also made his APML.
I think if Gneral (R) Pervez Musharraf will only keep himself in the lime light, he will face the similar political fate as of Mr. Imran Khan and Sheikh Rasheed.

Yes I do agree with the statement of Imran Khan but he has to make his party structure more effective at district level to become Prime Minister. Our Nation is paying very heavy price for the inflicted war and we have to get rid of this menace. Negotiation is the best possible solution so far.
