FIA arrests former federal minister

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has put the cuffs on former Federal Minister Habib Ullah Warraich  for his alleged involvement in the National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) scandal.

The agency’s anti-corruption cell has taken the former minister into custody. Moreover, it has prepared another arrest warrant for his son, Mohsin Warraich, the co-accused.

Habibullah has been charged for selling 800 kanals to the NICL on inflated rates. Both father and son have been accused of making kickbacks.

At the moment, FIA has frozen Warraich’s assets worth Rs1.2 billion.
