Proselytizing: Live conversion on TV stirs controversy

LONDON:

According to your newspaper, PML-N MNA Anjum Aqeel Khan has agreed to return an amount of Rs5.8 billion to the Police Foundation which he had been accused of defrauding. Clearly, returning the amount is not sufficient and he is doing this only after he realised that he would be convicted in a court of law.

Defrauding the government is a crime of a serious nature, more so since the man in question is a public representative. And, quite ironically, he belongs to the PML-N, a party that never tires of accusing the PPP and other parties of corruption. The minimum that should be done is for the PML-N to revoke his seat in the National Assembly and debar him from contesting elections for at least 10 years.
