KARACHI:
Sindh’s Awami National Party President Shahi Syed said on Tuesday that the presence of paramilitary forces in Karachi is essential for the restoration of peace in the city.
Syed made this announcement while addressing a news conference at Mardan House in Karachi.
Referring to the extra-judicial killing of an unarmed youth at the hands of five Rangers officials on June 8, he added that the Rangers institution cannot collectively be held responsible for a mistake committed by an individual.
Syed stressed that the presence of Rangers is crucial in Karachi to restore peace in the city.
He also said that all three coalition partners in Sindh have full confidence in the law enforcing agencies.
“These agencies have full authority to combat target killers and extortionists,” he added.

the rangers are essential for karachi as they are the only ones who can stop the rioters when ever riots erupt after a political killing. The police is too scared of the political parties behind the target killings ,so the rangers are the only viable option left.
Rangers are essential, hes right. Carry out complketely unbiased search operations in Sohrab Goth and Lyari and this city will have much of its garbage cleaned up.
What’s the news here?
Long term deployment of Rangers would not be an advisable act. In the long run Police must take the charge of the affairs. However, to assume the charge Police department needs complete overhauling and drastic reforms in order to become an impartial and professional force.
Yes. ANP will sure require Rangers to shoot at Orangi Town residents from the small hillocks on which rangers dwell. They have killed innocent bus passengers standing side by side with the so called, so called Rangers.
A recent news , The “chowkis ” of Rangers in Qasba colony were fired upon driving the Rangers away and subsequently taken over by murderes , later used for indiscriminate firing to the population below .
