WASHINGTON:
The Obama Administration has expressed its satisfaction with a key counterterrorism meeting between US and Pakistani officials in Islamabad this week.
The Pakistan-US Strategic Dialogue on Law-Enforcement and Counter-terrorism focused on cooperation in combating militants’ use of improvised explosive devices (IEDs). “Most importantly, Pakistan is taking strong ownership of this issue at home,” State Department Spokesperson Victoria Nuland said.
Interior Minister Rehman Malik represented Pakistan while William Brownfield, US Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law-Enforcement of the Department of State, headed the American side. The United States, Nuland noted, was experienced in dealing with the IED issue.

Does not matter what Rehman Malik says, the question is what Kayani and Pasha say? They must come out and own this war against the terrorists and facilitate the departure of US troops from our part of the world. Isn’t what most Paksitanis want, no US troops?
Ownership of the war after ten years? Now, who is fooling whom?
It’s good to see that finally Pakistan is taking ownership of this war. Unless or until we consider this war as our own, there won’t be any room for improvements.
Looks like Pakistan has finally been painted into a corner. The USA will no longer depend on Pakistan and the prior two faced/blackmail approach Pakistan has used isn’t going to work anymore. Further relations with the USA are going to be based on what Pakistan does – not nice words or speeches. Pakistan wants the money, weapons, and political muscle that that the USA can provide – unfortunately all of that has been suspended – and it’s possible that all of that is gone forever.
Now that we have made it “our war”, next step is to identify who our enemy is!!!! Granted, it should have been the other way round but ……That will take another 10 years to sort out between “good” enemy and “bad, bad” enemy, give or take! So, relax, where is the hurry?

mr.r.malik whose photo appears above has facial features of negro persons of africa.is he decendant of afro people ?How is afro person able to be in Pakistan government. ?Is he Afro Muslim ?I always picture pakistanis as people with straight hair not wooly hair..
