Motorcycling: Lorenzo voices speed concern

SEPANG:

Former world champion Jorge Lorenzo urged MotoGP organisers to cut the top speed of the sport’s new 1,000cc bikes to improve safety. Lorenzo expressed his reservations after three days of testing at Malaysia’s Sepang circuit. “I am not happy with the top speed,” said Lorenzo. “We need to reduce it if we want to make the 1000cc a safe category.” The new bikes can hit 320 kilometres per hour along straights.
