Banned outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) denied Monday that it was behind an attack last week on an Indian diplomatic mission in Afghanistan, in a call to AFP.
Afghan President Hamid Karzai said Monday that he had been informed by a Western intelligence agency that LeT was responsible for the assault on the Indian consulate in Herat which left two policemen wounded.
“Hamid Karzai’s claim is not based on truth. We condemn the attack,” a man identifying himself as LeT spokesperson Abdullah Ghaznavi said in a call to AFP’s office in Indian Kashmir.
“Our operations are limited to Jammu and Kashmir alone, and these will continue until the dawn of freedom for the territory,” he said from an undisclosed location.
The caller spoke in Urdu and rang from an unrecognised number. LeT have called AFP to issue denials of their involvement in attacks in the past.
LeT has been active in Indian Kashmir since the early 1990s and the group has allegedly carried out many attacks against Indian forces in the disputed region.
Indians love to put blame of their shortcomings on Pakistan, LeT, Hafiz Saeed, etc. Pity.

How come a banned entity is giving statement ? This simply proves that the organization is very much active.

All the wars with India and than Kargil, Pakistanis said it was not carried out by them. With passing time, they found the truth that yes it was them. Now not only India but also China, Iran USA and Afghanistan blame ‘the Land of the Pure’. Yes anything against Pakistan is a conspiracy against it. As before, it will wake up late and will be engulfed by their own doings.
Pakistani general’s punched well above its weight in 2008, and are trying the same now, ample time was given to settle matters and investigate the terrorist activities, and shut this biased terrorism against only a specific neighbor, but, they took action against terrorism perpetrated against only NATO forces, all this to the likes of Zia era generals.
I say so since, I believe that the next generation of army and security forces have no hostile and hate against its neighbors.

There are consequence against Pakistani forces(Isi, navy, Army, financial capital city and its police).

To reply to your comment…if an organization is banned and yet active, it means the BAN is not effective or the ban was just an eye-wash, a complete sham.
To be effectively BANNED means to be inactive.

It could easily be Shiv Sena or RSS or Bajrang Dal because they are against Modi’s invitation, meeting and handshakes with Nawaz Sharif. How absurd is that. Bajrang Dal does indeed have extreme views but they have not ever been qccused of killing people. Plus the notion that Shiv Sena which is a nationalist party ( though in my opinion misguided) wold be inolved in killing Indians -for what? To undermise India Pakistan talks? They have a greater leverage to express their concerns as allies of BJP than such absurd tactics. These false flag theories of yours are getting weirder.
LeT is not involved, why? Because they are not accepting. They have nothing to loose so why they will not accept? They are brave and if they did it then whey would admit it.

To consider LeT’s denial as possibly true is one thing….but reading many of the comments defending this banned extremist militant organization from accusations, if not outright supporting them, is disturbing…and I don’t think its just out of spite against Karzai, India, US, etc.
