Balochistan is facing a drought-like situation due to deforestation and rising environmental pollution, experts said on Thursday. Adviser to Chief Minister Balochistan on Forests and Livestock, Ubaidullah Jan Babat, underscored the need to construct more dams in Balochistan to preserve rain water and put a halt to damage caused by flash floods. Speaking at a seminar organised by Environmental Protection Agency Balochistan (EPA), International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD) Pakistan, he said that his department would take measures on priority basis to stop deforestation and environmental pollution.
