Sectarian violence: ‘Outlawed groups behind attacks’

HYDERABAD:

The Shia Ulema Council’s chief, Allama Sajid Naqvi, has said there is no issue of sectarianism in Pakistan and the attacks on the Shia community are being carried out by some outlawed groups. He said this while talking to the media at the residence of a party leader in Hyderabad on Thursday. “The government should expose the people who are running these groups and they should also take meaningful action against them,” he urged. He said the sectarian attacks are made under a conspiracy to provoke tension between various sects. However, platforms such as Milli Yakjahti Council were effectively working to counter such conspiracies, he added.
