Pakistan’s Muhammad Sajjad claimed his fourth victory in the ongoing IBSF World Championship after receiving a walkover against Philippine’s Felipe Tauro in Group P to move into the knockout stages of the event being played in India.

KARACHI: Meanwhile the other two Pakistani cueists, Muhammad Asif Toba and Hamza Akbar, also increased their chances of moving into the next phase after registering their third wins in Groups R and C respectively.

Asif thumped India’s Balaji Reddy in straight frames after a close contest in the first set, going on to seal the match with scores of 55-54, 104-14, 65-41 and 60-24.

On the other hand, Hamza has not looked back since his initial defeat in the opening round as he extended his winning streak in the competition after a 4-0 mauling of India’s Varun Madan. He triumphed over the Indian with scores of 80-25, 68-27, 60-45 and 56-17.
