NEW DELHI:

Pakistan rejected on Thursday India’s accusation of its involvement in the Gurdaspur attack which left seven people dead.

“It is unfortunate that India is pointing fingers even before the investigation is complete,” Foreign Office spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah said, during his weekly press briefing in Islamabad.

“Pakistan has condemned the Gurdaspur attack,” he added.

Reiterating Pakistan’s stance against terrorism, the FO spokesperson said, “Pakistan being a victim of terrorism itself is against all forms of terrorism.”

Earlier today, India’s Home Minister Rajnath Singh told parliament that the gunmen who stormed a police station and killed seven people in India’s Punjab came from Pakistan.

In a statement shorn of the nationalist rhetoric the ruling party is known for, Singh warned of a forceful response to any attempt to undermine India’s territorial integrity or security but did not specify any response to Monday’s attack.

Gunmen dressed in military fatigues killed at least 10 people, including three civilians, in India’s Punjab state on Monday before being shot dead in a 12-hour-long gunfight with security forces in a small-town police station near the border with Pakistan.

In what was the first such attack in the state in more than a decade, the assailants shot dead a roadside vendor and tried to hijack a bus before storming the police station, witnesses said.

Earlier, contradicting speculation that the attack may have been carried out by Sikh separatists, the Indian Punjab police chief claimed on Tuesday that the three gunmen were Muslim but as yet unidentified.

Pakistan had earlier issued a statement strongly condemning the assault and extending condolences to the government and people of India, pushing back against insinuations that the assailants had crossed from Pakistani territory.

“We condemn in the strongest terms the terrorist incident in Gurdaspur, India, in which a number of precious lives have been lost. There are reports of others having suffered injuries. Our thoughts are with the bereaved families,” said a statement issued here Pakistan’s Foreign Office.

  1. Pak, after failing to ignite Insurgency in Kashmir is trying to Ignite Militancy in Punjab.
Since due to intense Vigil of BSF, Pak Rangers were not able to chip Terrorists in J&K thats why they sent them to Punjab..
But Pak should remember that every action has a Equal Reaction, Might be in Balochistan!

  2. And what was the BSF doing ? Were they sleeping, drunk, flying drones, or busy firing at Pakistani civilians ? Please explain.

  3. “Earlier, contradicting speculation that the attack may have been carried out by Sikh separatists, the Indian Punjab police chief claimed on Tuesday that the three gunmen were Muslim but as yet unidentified.”

B.S. of A grade. There never was speculation that the attackers were Sikh. There is no such thing called Sikh separatism. It existed in the 80s in the name of Khalistan which was sponsored by Pakistan.

Such CONSPIRACY THEORY were floated only by Pakistanis. Especially by Mr. Shahid Lathif, Hamid Gul and a few retired military officers.

All initial evidences pointed to Pakistanis being the attackers of Gurdaspur.

More evidence will emerge in the weeks to come.

  4. Modi ji needs another ‘solid’ reason to increase his dying popularity among India. so….

  5. Let’s not be silly, peace dialogue with Talibans, excellent economic relations with China, betterment of internal security by the armed forces, fight against terrorism and rising moral of the Pakistanis will continue to rise!

  6. He forgot to mention that before crossing from Pakistan they were in Bahamas on holiday! Loser.

  7. Here continues the indian blame game as usual. ok first clarify that indian drone issue that was shot by Pakistanis…wait, first tell us about that Peshawar Massacre..wait clarify that srilankan team attack…also clarify me about that Ajmal Kasaab who was actually an indian and you blamed Pakistan for the plan for this inside job..also clarify the issue of that train massacre for which you as usual you blamed Pakistan which your own people says it was again an inside job…dear india, enough is enough. Please stop playing these old tactics where you cannot come up with logical proofs. duh.

  8. Well you announced it even before the investigations! Hawks are working hard to keep the relationship from turning friendly. Nawaz and Modi should make sure they rise above these obstacles.

  9. That’s a bit rich coming from a person who thinks Pakistan trained pigeons for spying. Mr. Rajnath Singh, u sir are a joke.

  10. india is just an attention seeker and any economic or even 0.5% improvement in Pakistan or any peace process with Afghanistan makes india cry. First they begged Russians, then Obama, then the Chinese, when nothing worked, india is back to is old trick of attacking itself to gain attention.

Sorry, it wont work this time 🙂

  11. @Pranav: Mister looks like no crimninals are born in India anymore. Anything happens in India its from Pakistan get a life. If you cant defend your borders and protect your cities dont blame it on others. Stupidity at its best.

  12. @pranav
You have already contributed enough to destabilize Pakiatan’s western borders.

  13. People are blaming BSF for this incident, but no one is questioning the role of Pakistani rangers failure to stop them to cross the border..

  14. Serious Question to Indian Readers: Do you understand how Indian BSF is capable of arresting pigeons, but not good enough to arrest 4 humans crossing the border ?
Please use common sense and stop believing in every lie your Govt tells you.
    Thanks.

  15. This story is as credible as involvement of RAW in Safoora, APS and other recent attacks… RAW should accept it botched up like ISI did in other cases…

  16. @wb:

intial evidences…Let me hear which one you have…huh your all time card. Wht ever happens in India blame it on Pakistan

  17. India is well known for cooking stories. Its RAW funded media in this regard is misleading its public. Pakistan has already condemned it yet India is bashing continuously.

  18. Why would Pakistan indulges in such sort of attack in India, to get more international ridicule, and of a terrorist nation tag…like there is not enough projection of Pakistan in India as well of doing such things.
Pakistan rather is on the hunt for TTP and its almost decimated, eager to improve its image world wide as a sensible nation, why would they involve in such attack on Indian Punjab…what did they achieved.
The best thing to judge who is behind these actions is to seek who is the beneficiary and who is at a loss. So here the beneficiary is India. Hence this is an inside job. This has now become very predictable…India should come up with something new and innovative.

  19. Our credibility is so low in the international community, the world will very readily believe India. Our image gets further tarnished, if this is even possible. Is it possible the TTP terrorists sneaked into India and bring India-Pak conflict? This theory makes sens since the terrorists deliberately have GPS devices indicating they started from Pakistan. Since the screws have been tightened inside Pakistan, they may be exploring alternate avenues to get Pakistan into trouble.

  20. hey, nobody is blaming the pakistani government…we know by heart they are good…the past gestures has shown that time and again…it’s the ‘other’ government of pakistan that doe not want to lose it’s relevance.

  21. India has not blamed Pakistan. India has blamed some Pakistani individuals. It is not the same thing, unless you are sure Pakistan officially supports every terrorist originating out of the country.

There is nothing hard to believe or understand about the evidence that Indian investigators are basing this on. The shaving of the bodies indicate a planned martyrdom operation. It follows same modus operandi as seen in Mumbai and Kashmir. The GPS unit found show which route they took.

  22. Humanity at its worst. Absolute disregard and lack of commiseration for the dead. All of us to remember – all of us will die one day and the absurdity and hatred between the two countries will remain.

  23. “Pakistan being a victim of terrorism itself is against all forms of terrorism.”

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Pakistan is as much victim of terrorism as a sucide-bomber is of his own death.

  24. Blaming Pakistan for any terrorist attack on any part of the world is justified because Pakistan president once proudly claimed that ISI is in touch with the every terrorist organization in the world

  25. @N.S:
    Your comment:
“The best thing to judge who is behind these actions is to seek who is the beneficiary and who is at a loss. So here the beneficiary is India. Hence this is an inside job. This has now become very predictable…India should come up with something new and innovative.”

Classic and unique way of thinking and reasoning that only Pakistanis are capable of.

When Mukhtaram Mai was gang raped on the orders of Pakistan’s tribal court, Pakistan’s then ruling President, Chief Executive and COAS Musharraf came on CNN and said confidently with authority that Pakistani women get raped for their own benefit so that they can get visas for USA and Europe. According to him Mukhtataram Mai and Pakistani women are the beneficiaries when they are raped. Similarly, Pakistan’s then ruling Prime Minister Gillani when CNN interviewer asked his opinion as to why Pakistanis are leaving Pakistan on security fears he in turn asked the interviewer confidently “Who is stopping them?”

  26. @Raj – USA:

Look Mate, moments into the attack, we could see Indians falling upon one and other blaming Pakistan for the attack. From ex Cricketers to ministers.
I would not be worth my salt if India attacks Pakistan and I don’t strike back. However, the Indians on the other hand seem to be some reallyreally nice folks that even after getting “attacked” repeatedly by Pakistan, they haven’t taken Pakistan to task yet. So either your Government has been lying to you all through this time or whole of India is Gandhi incarcerated. So Indians, next time your Government tells you it was Pakistan, use some brain and ask them why are they not retaliating against Pakistan if it keeps attacking? Mumbai attacks, Indian Parliament Attack and now this Police Station Attack. So why didn’t your government take the Indian Parliament attack up in U.N when it knew Pakistan did it, it could have declared Pakistan as a terrorist state if it had done so? Or why didn’t India retaliate back with an attack when knowing Pakistan did it? Is there any shame bigger than your Parliament getting attacked by Pakistan and India not responding?
If I am not wrong your government also told you it has blown a ship full of terrorist before back tracking on its own claim, there is never a shortage of sheeples in third world countries and India is no exception

  27. Whenever I hear such statements from Indian ministers, it reminds me of our own ministers who used to blame RAW in the past for everything. They let go of that habit but now they have started again. Not that it will work with Pakistanis though. We will rather question our own agencies than being satisfied by blaming foreign agencies. Blaming is the easy part. It covers up your inefficiency and failure and that’s what both Govts do. However, one thing that I don’t understand is that how these terrorists are able to cross border everytime they like and that too from Punjab. It’s a heavily guarded border and anyone who even tries to go near it can get either shot or arrested. So how they managed it?

Dear Indians! Don’t be so sure that there are no elements in India that are capable of doing this. You have many insurgencies going on and the thing with insurgencies is that they could get violent any time. Maybe first you should check inside your own home.

  28. @Dipak: you are so idiotic in your subjective comments, many believe Pakistan, and let’s hope they take up at the UN what RAW is up to within our borders…. much worse than what any could do within Indian territory…
