Chasing a modest total of 130, opener Dawid Malan scored an impressive 60 not out off 52 balls, with six fours and one six.
Earlier, last-wicket world-record partnership from Grant Elliot (40) and Zulfiqar Babar (20) rescued Quetta’s innings after they were reduced to 66-9 due to some sublime bowling performance of captain Shahid Afridi (5 for 7) and left-arm fast-bowler Wahab Riaz (2 for 19).
Both teams have qualified for the play-offs and will face-off each other in first qualifier on Friday.

Sarfraz Ahmed: We will try to learn from our mistakes. But we have to give credit to Shahid Afridi, who was in full swing today. We have made some changes, so that’s why it was a bit difficult as well.
Shahid Afridi: Quetta is a tough opposition and a victory against such opposition is morale-boasting. I know my performance is of immense importance for the team, so I want to perform as well as I could. We gave away 20-30 runs extra in the end. Malan and Hafeez batted really well.
